Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) had some talks with Facebook before launching the iTunes music social network called Ping. At one point Facebook integrating music into their social network through a partnership with Lala, a company that Apple ended up acquiring and shutting down.

Apple’s discussions with Facebook went nowhere. As a matter of fact, there is no signs of Facebook, MySpace, Google, or Twitter integration anywhere on Ping. The reason why Facebook is not on Ping is because they had “onerous terms that we could not agree to,” said Steve Jobs in an interview with AllThingsD.

Supposedly some people on Ping saw a Facebook Connect button, but that feature is not universal yet. In the meantime, you can find friends on Ping by simply searching for their first and last names.
