Google Taken To Court For Search Engine Ranking
Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has been taken to court as part of an investigation by the Texas Attorney General. The case is over the fairness of their search engine rankings. The European Commission is also in talks with Google about the rankings.
The Texas Attorney General has asked for information from a number of companies that have filed complaints about Google’s search engine rankings. Foundem, myTriggers, and TradeComet are three companies that are challenging Google’s search results. Google also pointed out that two of the aforementioned companies have attorneys that also work with Microsoft.
The TradeComet CEO Dan Savage said that Google is trying to “distract from its own antitrust problems by pointing to others and their lawyers” in an interview with Reuters. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry. You can follow me at @amitchowdhry or on Google+ at +AmitChowdhry
