YouTube Co-Founder Chad Hurley Offers Feross Aboukhadijeh A Job Through Twitter For YouTube Instant

Feross Aboukhadijeh is a computer science student at Stanford University that is expected to graduate in 2012. That is until he built YouTube Instant and the YouTube co-founder offered him a job through Twitter. Here’s how it all went down.

Earlier this week, Google had announced real-time search results through a service called Google Instant. Feross took this idea and twisted it by creating a similar service for YouTube. He called it YouTube Instant. Aboukhadijeh announced YouTube Instant initially on Y-Combinator’s Hacker News feed. Then he received coverage from TechCrunch, AllThingsD, and VentureBeat. Eventually YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley heard about him and sent him the following tweet (it sounds like Stanford is about to lose a student to YouTube):

Hey @FreeTheFeross! Loving YouTube Instant… http://feross.net/instant/ Want a job? ;) less than a minute ago via web

Hey @Chad_Hurley. Glad you liked YouTube Instant! Is that a for-real job offer? ;) less than a minute ago via web

@FreeTheFeross Are you ready to leave school? :) I’ll send you a DM.less than a minute ago via web
