Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is rumored to have bid on Lovefilm, a European company that is similar to Netflix. The acquisition would be in the form of a takeover offer. The offer values Lovefilm.com close to 200 million pounds.

Lovefilm declined to comment on the takeover offer. Amazon.com already owns 42% of Lovefilm after they combined their own European rental operations with online movie rental company.
