Forbes: Steve Jobs Now Ranked As 42nd Richest American

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs is now in 42nd place in the richest Americans list. His net worth is $6.1 billion. Jobs gained an additional $1 billion in net worth over calculations from last year. This year is Jobs’ highest net worth to date.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates remains at #1 17 years in a row. His net worth is $54 billion. This is up $4 billion from last year, but at his highest it was $59 billion in 2007. Gates put in about $28 billion in charity.
