Geo-location service Foursquare has announced that the company is partnering with RunKeeper to distribute fitness badges. RunKeeper is an application that helps people track fitness routines. If you earn fitness milestones on RunKeeper, then you will earn badges on Foursquare without having to check-in anywhere.

You can unlock a Marathon badge by using RunKeeper to track long distance running in a park or a gym. The RunKeeper and Foursquare integration works on the free and the paid RunKeeper iPhone and Android application.

Foursquare pointed out that they are going to developer similar partnerships to unlock badges through real-world experiences with “carefully selected partners.”
