Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) announced earlier this week that they are introducing a cell phone plan branded under their own name. The Wal-Mart Family Mobile service will run on the T-Mobile USA network and will have unlimited calling/texting for $45 per month for one line. Each additional line for the family will be for $25.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is planning to sell some of their debt this year in order to pay for dividends and repurchase shares. The company plans to raise as much as they can without jeopardizing their debt rating of AAA.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) said that they were sad to hear about Bloglines shutting down on October 1, but they encouraged former users to join Google Reader. “We know that nothing will be quite like Bloglines in the hearts of its users, but if you’re looking for another online feed reader, we encourage you to give Reader a shot,” said Mihai Parparita, founding member of the Google Reader team.

V CAST has launched their own branded mobile application store. Many people using Android phones on Verizon may have already noticed the V CAST Apps tabs under the Android Market. V CAST Apps will supposedly be their own app store and may even compete directly with the Android Market.

Google TV is rumored to be launching on October 17. The Logitech Revue box hardware is already passed through the FCC and an internal Best Buy document has been shared with Engadget. In the document, it says that “the launch of GoogleTV that was planned for 10/3 has been pushed back 2 weeks.” [Engadget]

A123 Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:AONE), a developer and producer or advanced Nanophosphate lithium ion batteries has announced today that they have opened the largest lithium ion automotive battery production facility in North America. The new plant is located in Livonia, Michigan and they are expecting to expand manufacturing capabilities by up to 600MW hours per day.

YouTube has been working closely with partners to provide live streaming services for U2 concerts, White House speeches, and the Indian Premier League. As of 8AM PST yesterday, YouTube began a limited trial of a new live streaming platform. Live streaming is integrated directly into YouTube channels. The only thing that broadcasters need is a webcam or external USB/FireWire camera. Live Comments is a feature of YouTube’s Live Streaming feature as well.
