John Mayer has quit Twitter, saying goodbye to 3.7 million followers. This is three days after Mayer tweeted a photo called the “Self Portrait of The Artist Three Days Before His Metaphoric Retirement” pictured below. Mayer has not completely ended his social media campaigns. He still has a Facebook account, a Tumblr account and his own website where you can track his updates.

Amazon.com has launched a new TV ad that pokes fun at the ability to read the iPad in direct sunlight. The girl using the Kindle 3 points out that the price is $139 and that she spent more on her sunglasses. Check out the ad below:

Shortly after hiring Stephen Elop as President and CEO, a major executive at Nokia Corporation has stepped down. Anssi Vanjoki, the head of Nokia’s smartphone division has resigned. Vanjoki will remain for another 6 months to help with the transition.

After Google launched Google Instant, a couple of similar websites popped up by independent developers that emulate a similar concept. Google Maps Instant and YouTube Instant was created shortly after Google Instant. YouTube Instant helped Feross Aboukhadijeh get a job at YouTube.

Radio Shack is selling the T-Mobile G2 mobile phone for $150 with a 2 year agreement and instant rebate. This is $50 cheaper than the pre-order at Best Buy! Radio Shack made the announcement on Twitter. [Engadget]

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is acquiring Israeli startup company Quiksee. Quiksee is based in Or Yehuda, Israel and the deal is estimated to be worth about $10 million.

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) may be acquiring security software firm ArcSight for $1.5 billion. Based on ArcSight’s 34.6 million shares, this values the company at $43.34 per share. This is a 23% premium to the stock’s closing price on Friday.

Domain name registration and web hosting company GoDaddy.com is putting itself up for sale. GoDaddy could sell to a private equity firm for over $1 billion according to a report.
