Face.com is a facial recognition service that is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Supposedly Face.com has a 90% accuracy when identifying your face in a Facebook picture.

AOL, Inc. (NYSE:AOL) has announced today that they are acquiring TechCrunch, Inc. TechCrunch operates TechCrunch.com, MobileCrunch.com, TechCrunchIT.com, MobileCrunch.com, GreenTech, TechCrunchTV, and CrunchBase.com.

AdAge.com is reporting that the deal was worth $30 million plus incentives. Michael Arrington is expected to remain at AOL/TechCrunch for up to 3 years.

AOL, Inc. (NYSE:AOL) has acquired 5min Media, a video tutorial website that teaches people how to do different tasks. Although AOL did not confirm the value of the acquisition, sources believe that it was an all-cash deal worth $50-$65 million.

A celebrity charity auction called TwitChange has raised over $540,000 through Twitter. The initiative was led by Desparate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker. The $540,000 will be donated to build a school for disabled children in Haiti.

Publisher ad network NetShelter is an advertising network that powers ads for websites such as MacRumors.com, SlashGear.com, CrackBerry.com, etc. has raised $15 million in a second round of funding. NetShelter’s network saw about 133 million unique visitors this August.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has acquired Seattle-based mobile planning startup Plannr. Plannr is intended to target groups of friends that are less than ten people. E-mail, SMS, geolocation, and phone calls are three of the main features in Plannr.

Fox News broke a story about 15 Chrysler employees that used their lunch break to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana. All 15 employees were identified and suspend without pay. About 13 employees at the Jefferson North Plant employees in Detroit have been fired for violating the Company Standards of Conduct. The two remaining employees will receive one month layoff without pay.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced that Office for Mac will be available for purchase on October 26th. It can also be pre-ordered from Amazon.com starting today too. There will be three versions of Office for Mac available. The three include Office for Mac Home & Student 2011, Office for Mac Home & Business 2011, and Office for Mac Academic 2011. The price ranges from $99-$279.
