Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and WordPress.com has announced that Windows Live Space users will now be using the WordPress.com blogging platform. WordPress.com has made the migration easy using a brand a new import. Windows Live Spaces users will have the option to import all posts, comments, and photos to the WordPress.com platform.

Chegg is a very popular online textbook rental service. Chegg has recently raised $75 million from Ace Limited, an Asian-based investment firm. Chegg had $144 million of funding before this. Other venture firms that put money into Chegg include Kleiner Perkins, Foundation Capital, and Insight Venture Partners.

Freelancer.com has hit 1.8 million registered users and 800,000 completed projects. “Freelancer.com’s growth is attributable to fact that the site is so simple to use and cost effective. Anyone can now assemble a virtual workforce overnight on a shoestring budget,” stated Freelancer.com CEO Matt Barrie. “We also enable markets that previously didn’t exist. Steve Burke [pictured left] is replacing Jeff Zucker [pictured right] to work as the CEO of NBC Universal. Steve Burke is the COO of Comcast. The change will be made after federal regulators approve Comcast’s $30 billion acquisition of NBC.

Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX) has fired Jonathan Klein, the president of CNN/US. Ken Jautz, president of HLN, will be replacing Klein. Jautz is known for finding Glenn Beck on the radio and putting him on TV.

The original iPhone was not greeted well in China. Supposedly China Unicom signed up only 5,000 subscribers. The iPhone 4 was launched this past Saturday in China. Over 200,000 people in China pre-ordered the iPhone 4 according to China Unicom. At 8AM when China Unicom opened the doors to the new Apple store at the Joy City shopping mall in Beijing, there was a line of about 1,000 people.

The Department of Justice has announced this past week that they have reached a settlement with 6 tech companies. Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG), Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU), and Pixar Animation Studios Inc. have all agreed to to enter an employee agreement. These 6 companies have agreed not to poach employees from each other.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was interviewed on Oprah this past week to discuss the Startup:Education foundation. Zuckerberg is donating $100 million to the public school system in Newark, New Jersey. “Education has always been important to me and my family,” stated Zuckerberg. “Newark has unfortunately become a symbol of public education’s failure—of a status quo that accepts schools that don’t succeed.” Below is an interview he did with Oprah about the donation.
