Microsoft Buys .NET Application Startup AVIcode

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has acquired AVIcode, a real-time .NET Framework software company. The acquisition will provide Microsoft “customers with unified management for physical, virtualized and cloud applications, whether they are running in a customer, service provider or Microsoft datacenter.” The terms of the deal were undisclosed.

AVIcode’s software will be rolled into Microsoft’s System Center products. AVIcode’s software has monitoring capabilities and provides the ability to trace business transactions. AVIcode raised $2 million in venture funding.
