Sprint CEO Dan Hesse Announces “Sprint ID”
Sprint CEO Dan Hesse unveiled a new project at the CTIA Enterprise and Applications conference in San Francisco called “Sprint ID.” The Sprint ID service lets users create separate mobile profiles for applications, widgets, and ringtones.
Sprint ID will initially be only offered on new Android smartphones including the Samsung Transform, Sanyo Zio, and LG Optimus S. Sprint’s website has free ID packs with launch partners Disney, E!, MTV, etc.
Sprint ID packs include branded, non-branded, and personalized. Branded ID packs features a company’s own applications and services. For example, the Yahoo! pack has applications for Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Sports, Yahoo! Finance, Flickr, etc.
The non-branded Sprint ID “Entertainment” pack contains music, movies, and TV apps. For example, it will come with Shazam, Pandora, Rhapsody, IMDB, TMZ, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc.@amitchowdhry or on Google+ at +AmitChowdhry
