Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) was awarded a patent for “Text-based communication control for personal communication device.” The patent is described as a control unit or application that filters text messages if they contain “objectionable” content. It is designed for giving parents more control over the text messages sent by their kids. There is also several educational purposes for this patent.

It can also be used for checking grammar and spelling. Parents will be able to block text messages with misspelled words and grammar. Also if a child is learning Spanish, parents can set up messages so that it has a minimum number of Spanish words.
