Microsoft’s Quarterly Profit Increases 51%

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has reported a profit increase of 51% due to a strong demand for the PC operating system Windows 7 and Office 2010. About 240 million Windows 7 licenses have been sold in the first year of availability. Xbox 360 sales grew 38% and Bing.com is gaining search engine market share as well. During the quarter ending September 30, Microsoft had reported a profit of $5.41 billion, up from $3.57 billion one year earlier. Revenue also jumped 25% to $16.2 billion.
