General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) has acquired Opal Software, a company that designs engineering software for electric, gas, and water utilities. Opal’s software can quickly migrate data between multiple platforms. GE software can also be integrated into non-GE systems using Opal’s software.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, 36, appeared on a commercial for Stoli vodka. The ad features Biz Stone talking to… Biz Stone. Both are talking to each other about Twitter while having a Stoli.

Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL) had proposed a settlement with the SEC for fraudulent accounting practices this past July. Before the SEC approved of the settlement, a judge had to approve the proposal. A U.S. judge approved of the settlement and now Dell has to pay $100 million in fines.

On average, teenagers in the U.S. send out about 3,339 text messages per month according to a study by The Nielsen Co. Text messages are limited to 160 characters or less. According to the same study teens are also using more data on their phones.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) CEO Carol Bartz has been placed in a top 25 list and it is not a good one. Bartz was listed in the top 25 list of overpaid CEOs as conducted by Glass, Lewis & Co. Yahoo! appears to lack a vision and revenues are flat.

ChaCha is a mobile Q&A service that has raised $20 million. This brings the company’s total funding to about $72 million. This round of funding was led by Rho Ventures and VantagePoint. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced that they are launching Halo: Reach’s first map pack on November 30. The Noble Map Pack will have 3 new maps and new achievements that are worth 250 Gamescore points. It will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10) for the new map pack. Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) will be selling the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) WiFi iPad starting October 28th. Verizon said that the iPad will be available at over 2,000 stores on that date. It will be offered in three bundles.
