Involver is a social media management platform company that offers Facebook Page applications. Involver has raised $8 million in funding led by Bessemer. Existing investors Western Technology Investment and Cervin Ventures also participated in this round. Involver started in 2007 and has about 100,000 clients including The White House, Facebook, and Alicia Keys. The Samsung Freeform II (SCH-r360) is now being sold at MetroPCS stores. The Freeform II has a four-row QWERTY keyboard, 2.2″ QVGA TFT display screen, and has text/picture messaging. Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) and Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) have officially entered a $60 million deal with each other. Even though Toyota announced plans to provide a Tesla powertrain to the electric version of the RAV4, it is in writing now. Tesla filed a form with the U.S. SEC to disclose their $60 million agreement with Toyota. Tesla expects there to be RAV4 with Tesla powertrain prototypes out later this year. GROU.PS is a social network platform that lets users create their own custom social networks. The company has acquired Social Project from MTV Networks. As part of the deal GROU.PS now owns the company and their users. MTV will keep the Flux social media publishing platform. The financial details of this deal were undisclosed. Social Project used to be known as Tagworld. MTV bought them out in 2008. GROU.PS has 5.5 million users and is used in about 160,000 global networks. [TechCrunch]

DailyD is a daily local deals website that is based in Santa Monica, California. DailyD has raised $5 million in funding according to a regulatory filing. DailyD was founded by LowerMyBills founder Matt Coffin. Although the funding company was not listed in the filing, Jim Simons of Split Rock Partners is listed as a board member.

(NASDAQ:QCOM) has acquired San Francisco mobile start-up company iSkoot through the The Qualcomm Innovation Center (QuIC) division. iSkoot provides social networking services to phones that are not considered smartphones. iSkoot also allows users to make and receive PC calls using only regular cell phones. The acquisition financial details were undisclosed.
