Yesterday Apple’s stock has passed $300 per share for the time in the company’s history. Currently the stock NASDAQ:AAPL is trading at about $301. Apple will be reporting their earnings next week. Stay tuned for that announcement on Pulse2.com.

7 Degrees is a start-up company that builds social business applications. One of their flagship products is called PeopleMaps. 7 Degrees has raised $6.8 million in Series B funding from Rho Ventures, vSpring Capital, and Parkview Ventures. The company has raised a total of $8 million thus far.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) was awarded a patent for “Text-based communication control for personal communication device.” The patent is described as a control unit or application that filters text messages if they contain “objectionable” content. It is designed for giving parents more control over the text messages sent by their kids. There is also several educational purposes for this patent.

Redbox has been testing video game rentals in certain markets as of this past July. After a successful pilot, Redbox decided to roll out this service to thousands more of their 24,000 kiosks. And it will cost $2 per night. Redbox kiosks can be spotted across certain grocery and convenience stores across the nation. [Consumerist]

mySupermarket.co.uk is a grocery shopping comparison website based in the United Kingdom. The company has raised a $7.4 million third round of funding. To date mySupermarket has raised a total of $21.4 million. The investors in this round of funding was Greylock Israel and Pitango Venture Capital.

A few days ago, Digg founder and former CEO Kevin Rose conducted a poll to see how many Digg users want to have the “Bury” button back. The Bury button empowered Digg users to vote down on stories that they do not like. Digg removed this feature after launching the fourth version of Digg.com.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has made a major update to their iPhone application. Their iPhone application now has the ability to scan barcodes and find out how much that product sells for on their own website. Even though there are a number of other bar code scanning applications, it is nice to have one that is directly connected to Amazon’s inventory. [Gizmodo]
