Oracle Acquires E-Commerce Software Company ATG For $1 Billion


Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL) has acquired e-commerce software company ATG for $1 billion at approximately $6 per share. This is a 46% premium to its closing price of $4.10 on November 1. ATG’s software platform is compatible with Oracle’s CRM and supply chain applications. ATG’s revenue for Q3 2010 was $50.3 million. [TechCrunchIT]

    Yesterday, Oracle made a great acquisition which really compliments their existing offering. However, I wonder if they’ll stop there. ATG Always had a very close working relationship with Webtrends, and I truly believe that Oracle has to take a serious look at acquiring them next.
