Apple Acquired Wi-Gear To Develop Stereo Headphones A Couple Months Ago [UPDATE: Wi-Gear Not Acquired]

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has acquired Wi-Gear, a Bluetooth wireless phone company based in San Francisco about two months ago. Wi-Gear made three generations of A2DP stereo headphones called iMuffs and they also made a Bluetooth 2.0 adapter for older iPhones and iPods. Wi-Gear shut down their own operations after the acquisition. Apple is planning to build their own stereo headphones using technology from Wi-Gear.
