Facebook Announces Seamless Messaging, Conversation History, and Social Inbox [VIDEO]

Facebook has announced a new inbox, which is also known as a “modern messaging system.” Zuckerberg said that this is a messaging system that includes e-mail as one part of it, but it is not necessarily a “Gmail killer.” He said that it is a more fun and simpler way to connect with each other. Everyone will get an option @facebook.com e-mail address. The inbox will be rolled out slowly over the next few months.

Microsoft also announced today that Office Web Apps is enable with Facebook’s new messaging system. You will be able to easily share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations through Facebook’s new messaging system as an attachment. When you click on a friend’s face, you can send an SMS, chat, e-mail, or Messages to that person. Messages will be threaded as a conversation history in a way that is similar to Gmail.
