Songs By The Beatles Are Now For Sale On iTunes

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has announced today that studio albums by The Beatles is now for sale on iTunes. This includes the group’s 13 remastered studio albums, iTunes LPs, the two-volume “Past Masters” compilation, and the classic “Red” and “Blue” collections. You can also buy individual songs. And iTunes users can also purchase a special digital “Beatles Box Set.”

Below is what some of The Beatles band members or their widows had to say about it:

“We’re really excited to bring the Beatles’ music to iTunes,” stated Sir Paul McCartney. “It’s fantastic to see the songs we originally released on vinyl receive as much love in the digital world as they did the first time around.”

“I am particularly glad to no longer be asked when the Beatles are coming to iTunes,” said Ringo Starr. “At last, if you want it—you can get it now—The Beatles from Liverpool to now! Peace and Love, Ringo.”

“In the joyful spirit of Give Peace A Chance, I think it is so appropriate that we are doing this on John’s 70th birthday year,” said Yoko Ono Lennon.

“The Beatles on iTunes—Bravo!” said Olivia Harrison.

Single albums are for sale at $12.99 each and double albums cost $19.99 each. Individual songs cost $1.29 each. And the Beatles Box Set costs $149. The Box Set includes the 13 remastered studio albums, iTunes LPs, all mini-documentaries, an iTunes-exclusive of the very first Beatles’ U.S. concert, and the Live at the Washington Coliseum, 1964 concert film.
