Eric Schmidt: Chrome OS Is For Keyboards and Android Is For Touch-Screens

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) CEO Eric Schmidt has clarified the difference between the Google Chrome OS and the Android OS. Google sees the Chrome OS as being more ideal for desktops, laptops, and notebooks. Whereas Android is best made for touch-screen mobile devices.

Schmidt gave the clarification after being asked a question by an audience member at the Web 2.0 Summit conference. The audience member said that he was confused by Android fragmentation and about where Chrome OS will be used vs. Android. Schmidt responded by saying that Android was not fragmented. He said that you can run the same apps on all Android phones.
