Kayak.com Files For $50 Million IPO

Kayak.com has filed an S-1 statement with the SEC for a proposed IPO. Kayak hopes to raised $50 million according to the S-1. During the first 9 months of 2010, Kayak made about $128 million in revenues. This is a 48% jump from the year before. During the third quarter ending September 30, Kayak made about $48 million in revenues. Between January and September, Kayak.com processed over 469 million user queries.

The S-1 had also mentioned that Kayak.com licenses flight information from ITA Software. Google is expected to acquire ITA, but several companies are pushing to block the deal. Kayak’s licensing deal with ITA expires in December 2013. ITA had powered 42% of Kayak.com’s airfare queries for the year.
