Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has launched an update to iOS. iOS 4.2 brings multitasking, AirPlay, and other improvements to the iPad. And newer iOS devices will notice that the Find My iPhone security service is now available for free. This feature used to only be available for $99 through the MobileMe account.

iOS 4.2 brings multi-tasking to the iPad for the first time. The new operating system has a unified e-mail inbox view and the Games Center application. iOS 4.2 is a free download for iPhones, iPod Touch devices, and the iPad. It is unlikely that I would ever lose my iPhone 4 because I am stuck to it like glue, but if I ever do lose it – the free Find My iPhone service is reassuring.
