Apple Is Doubling Their Office Size In Cupertino

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has bought 98 acres of land in Cupertino to double their office space. Apple bought land that was once owned by Hewlett-Packard. Last year Apple reported $65 billion in sales and had added 12,300 employees. This brought their global employee count to 46,600.

“We’re very proud to have Apple’s headquarters in our city. It’s not just a company. It’s the company,” stated Mayor Kris Wang. The former HP headquarters is across the street on Pruneridge Avenue from Apple’s second 50-acre campus. Their main headquarters is at 1 Infinite Loop.

The sale price of the land was not mentioned by Mercury News is pegging it to be around $300 million. “We now occupy 57 buildings in Cupertino and our campus is bursting at the seams,” stated Apple PR head Steve Dowling. “These offices will give us more space for our employees as we continue to grow.”
