“Facebook Doesn’t Own My Friends” Google Chrome Extension Gets Taken Down

A Google Chrome extension called “Facebook Doesn’t Own My Friends” was available for download up until recently. This Chrome Extension allowed you to import your friends contact information on Facebook into Gmail and CSV files. It is unclear whether Facebook filed a complaint against the extension or if Google took it down themselves. The extension went down shortly after TechCrunch wrote an article about it. That’s too bad because I would love to have Facebook information in my Google Contacts.

Earlier this month, Google had issued a warning about importing Google Contacts into Facebook. Google responded to Facebook not allowing you to export data by removing the import Gmail contacts feature on Facebook. Facebook found a way to get around Gmail and made it an option again. Google sent out the warning after that.
