JP Rangaswami is becoming the chief scientist of Salesforce.com. Rangaswami was the chief scientist at BT Group. Rangaswami will work on the product strategy at Salesforce.com and will serve as a cloud computing evangelist. Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff said Rangaswami has “the rare talent of being able to see what the future should be, knowing what it takes to get there, and the enthusiasm to make it happen.” [ZDNet]

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and executives with NBC Universal is meeting with officials at the FCC this week. Comcast and NBC both do not want to be required to provide shows and movies to Internet video distributors like Apple TV and Google TV as part of their merger agreement.

After being downloaded 36 million times on the iPhone and Android, Angry Birds is now coming to gaming consoles. Rovio developers are working on Angry Birds for the Microsft Xbox 360, Sony PS3, and the Nintendo Wii. Rovio CEO Peter Vesterbacka did not give any specifics on when Angry Birds will be available for download on gaming consoles. [BBC]

Reuters published a story called “Twitter co-founder hopes to create news network.” That story is currently circulating at the top of Techmeme.com. Reuters is referencing an interview with Biz Stone where he said “I think a Twitter News Service would be something that would be very open and shared with many different news organizations around the world.”

Chrysler Group LLC has announced plans to invest $843 million in their Kokomo, Indiana transmission plant. This is Chrysler’s second major investment in their Indiana plants. Chrysler spent $343 million to make eight-speed automatic transmission rear-wheel drive vehicles.

Over the last few months Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) moved their API and some of their streaming operations to Amazon Web Services (AWS). At the same time, Netflix grew three times as big over the past year. Netflix Cloud Architect Adrian Cockcroft discussed some advantages of switching to AWS rather than building a data center on the Cloudscaling Blog.

YouTube user Erick Marshall uploaded a video of 1,500 pounds worth of cellphones being dropped on a 4th generation Chevy Camaro.
