Earlier this month Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) fired an employee for leaking salary information to technology and finance blog BusinessInsider.com. The employee was not revealed until now. Gawker did a bit of investigation and found out that it was Randy Wigginton.

Svpply is an e-commerce website that makes it easy to buy goods on the Internet. Svpply lets you search for accessories, apparel, shoes, gadgets, etc. Svpply has raised $550,000 in seed funding from Spark Capital, Founder Collective, Ron Conway, Dennis Crowley, and Jason Hirschhorn. Zach Klein, co-founder of College Humor and Vimeo, is also a co-founder in Svpply. Klein is working with Ben Pieratt, a designer that lives in Boston. [AllThingsD]

Dell has announced that they have started to sell an unlocked version of the Streak with Android 2.2. The Dell Streak will work on T-Mobile or other GSM telecomm carriers. The OS upgrade makes multi-touch zooming, Flash, USB tethering, auto-rotating home screen, and 3G hotspot creation available on the tablet computer.

The Federal Communications Commission wants 911 emergency services to start accepting text messages. About 70% of calls made to 911 are from mobile phones and people tend to prefer text messages over calling.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers almost missed out on investing in Zynga. It turns out that KPCB rejected investments in Zynga… twice. Now KP partner John Doerr said “Zynga is the largest, most rapidly growing, most profitable company, with the most happy customers that Kleiner’s ever invested in over it’s life.”

Mobile browser company Skyfire has released a third version for Android. Skyfire gained popularity very quickly after bringing Flash to the iPhone and iPad. Skyfire converts Flash to HTML5 on-the-fly when browsing on the iOS. Skyfire 3.0 for Android has a new feature called “Skyfire bar.”
