Foursquare was one of the first companies to offer incentives for checking in to venue partners. SCVNGR and Facebook copied off of Foursquare’s business model and now Yelp is jumping on board too. Yelp is now offering business owners “Check-in Offers” to venues.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) and their subsidiary Playdom has settled a lawsuit with Zynga. Zynga sued Playdom for misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of the duty of loyalty, tortious interference with contracts, etc. The defendants in this lawsuit also includes four ex-Zynga and some Playdom employees.

Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) has announced today that they are powering voice recognition capabilities for the Askc.om iPhone app. Nuance’s voice recognition technology is also being used on the Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps. “The voice-to-text feature really resonates with users, and makes the whole question asking experience on a mobile device easier than ever,” stated Ask.com SVP of Products Tony Gentile. After updating Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS to version 4.2, the Safari browser has seen some enhancements. Some of the improvements include accelerometer and gyroscope support. There is also WebSockets and an updated HTML5 form support. Acer Inc. had a global press event in New York earlier today. At the event, the company announced a new Windows 7-based dual-screen laptop / tablet called the Iconia. The Iconia has a pair of glossy touchscreens. There is no physical keyboard on the Iconia, but there is a virtual keyboard. This computer comes with the new Clear.fi media sharing system. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has posted a teaser on their website about their upcoming Black Friday sales.  Apple is having a one-day sale for iPads, iPods, and Macs.  Last year Apple had dropped the price of MacBook Pros and iMacs by $101.  Resellers slashed prices by as much as $300. [AppleInsider]

Facebook has shut down the Facebook Page and the Like buttons on Lamebook.com. This is happening because there was a trademark dispute between Facebook.com and Lamebook.com. Lamebook filed a declaratory judgment complaint against Facebook and they responded by filing a trademark infringement case.

Xiang Dong Yu was a 10 year veteran of Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F). Yu recently pleaded guilty in federal court on November 17 to charges that he had stolen $50 million in company secrets. This includes design documents. He then sold the company secrets to a U.S. rival of Ford.
