In a SecondMarket share auction that took place last week, the end price per share was $20.76 for Facebook. Facebook has about 2.5 billion shares outstanding after a 5-1 stock split earlier this year. Based on the price per share and the outstanding shares, this puts Facebook’s valuation at about $50 billion. This means that Facebook is worth more than Yahoo! and eBay and their value is about 1/4th of Google and Microsoft. Below is an e-mail sent out to buyers on SecondMarket:

Conan O’Brien used the cheap Taiwanese animation idea to show a conflict between himself and sidekick Andy Richter over yogurt [video]. NMA.tv decided to take advantage of their publicity by creating a retaliation video. In the retaliation, it points out that Conan uses a gang of American child labor to do his animatio and that NMA.tv’s lawyers is seizing Conan’s blimp as a payment for intellectual property violations. Earlier I wrote about how Vator.tv reported Google had already acquired Groupon for $2.5 billion. It turns out that negotiations are still happening and the price may actually be much higher. If Groupon accepts the acquisition terms, it could be announced as early as this week. But there is still a chance that nothing comes out of the talks. If Groupon does get acquired at this price, this would be Google’s most expensive acquisition to date. Groupon was founded in 2008 and it is the fastest growing Internet company ever.
