?Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA)? has responded to Level 3′s claims that Comcast is imposing a “toll” on them. Comcast had asked Level 3 to pay them a recurring fee when Comcast subscribers request content such as movies through Level 3′s facilities. Level 3 is one of the CDN companies that streams Netflix movies. Level 3 had agreed to the fees in protest. Here’s Comcast’s side of the story.

Google Software Engineering Intern Karol Stosiek wrote about a new feature that has been added to Google Calendar. As meetings tend to have vary in importance for attendees, Google Calendar now has an “Optional attendees” feature. When setting up an Event on Google Calendar through Gmail, click on “Make some attendees optional” and you can start adding names/e-mail addresses. Before creating the event, you will need to toggle the role of each attendee by clicking the icon next to their name (note the screenshot above has a person icon that is not filling in black). Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced that they have had “strong demand” throughout the Black Friday weekend. Over 2.5 million of the Xbox 360 Kinect controllers have been sold across the world. Microsoft head of interactive entertainment Don Mattrick said that the Kinect is on track to sell about 5 million units through the holiday season. According to a survey by GfK, smartphone owners show very little loyalty to the brand they have. About 56% of global smartphone owners in the key global markets remain open about the next brand of phone they get. Apple seems to be the only company that has a strong loyalty. “Loyalty with a handset is a lot more complicated these days in that people buy into experiences at the high-end level,” stated the survey lead analyst Ryan Garner.

About 82 torrent and copyright-infringing websites were taken down by Homeland Security in the past week. The Torrent-Finder.com owner complained that his website was taken without a court complaint. The government has justified why they took down websites without notice. It turns out that the government shut down the 82 websites as part of an effort called “Operation In Our Sites II.”
