Foursquare Removes Venue Editing Rights From Mayors

Geolocation check-in service Foursquare has removed the ability for mayors to edit venues. Foursquare mayors used to have the ability to edit venue information such as phone numbers and adjust the placement of the pins on the map. Now becoming a mayor just gives you a little bit of bragging rights. “It just didn’t make sense anymore as our user base has scaled so quickly. However, we’re working on some tools to give superusers more responsibilities and will be doing a (long-awaited) superuser upgrade soon!” said Foursquare. points out Foursquare removed this feature without having the superuser ready is surprising. Fortunately venue creators are still able to edit the venues that they have created. []
