10gen Raises $6.5 Million From Sequoia Capital, Flybridge, and Capital Partners

Open source software developer company 10gen has raised $6.5 million. 10gen is best known for developing the database software MongoDB. MongoDB is a database software that lets you manage large-scale databases. MongoDB includes an analytics set that tracks the usage on a website. MongoDB users include Foursquare and Bit.ly.

10gen is based in New York and launched in 2007. They make money by selling premium services for commercial companies. The MongoDB software is downloaded about 90,000 times per day. Previous investors Flybridge Capital Partners and Union Square Ventures also participated in this round. 10gen now has a total of $11.4 million in funding.
