Alicia Keys Digital Death Charity Campaign Hits The $1 Million Goal

Alicia Keys started a digital death campaign where celebrities went quiet on Twitter and Facebook in order to raise $1 million for the Keep a Child Alive organization. The goal was met yesterday and celebrities started tweeting again. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of the fans, friends and artists who joined this cause,” said Keys. “I’m incredibly inspired by all of the donations that have been made to help us achieve our goal and so humbled by the outpour of support from everyone.” One of the biggest donors was billionaire and philanthropist Stewart Rahr. He matched the $500,000 in funds that the public donated. Rahr owns the largest privately owned pharmaceutical distributor company in the world Kinray. [MTV]
