Lastpass Acquires Bookmark Syncing Company Xmarks

Universal password manager company LastPass has acquired bookmark syncing company Xmarks. Essentially LastPass saved Xmarks from shutting down. Xmarks was expected to shut down in January 2011 due to a lack of revenue. Xmarks will continue to be free but there will be a premium plan that comes with Android and iPhone app support for $12 per year. LastPass Premium can be bundled for $20 per year. [Lifehacker]
