Apple Is Bidding For Nortel’s Patent Assets [RUMOR]

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is reportedly bidding for the patent assets owned by Nortel Networks Corporation (PINK:NRTLQ). Nortel filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and is selling off all of their assets. Nortel owns over 4,000 patents worth over $1 billion. Apple isn’t not interested in all of Nortel’s I.P. assets, only buckets of them. Some of the patents that Apple may be interested in include third- and fourth-generation wireless technology such as Long Term Evolution. [MacRumors]
