Apple Patenting A P2P Method For Sharing Applications

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published a patent that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) filed for on December 9. This reveals a way that the company is share applications using a seed methodology. The problem with applications right now is that it is a rigorous process between showing a friend an application and getting them to buy it.

If I show Joey Joe-Joe Shabadoo how much I like Angry Birds on the iPhone and he wants it, then he has to open up the App Store, search for the app, and then download it. Wouldn’t it be easier if I could just click “Send to friend” and his phone automatically grabs it? This patent revolves around that idea. You can read more about it on Patently Apple.
