Facebook Adds Facial Recognition To Photo Tagging

Every day over 100 million photos are tagged on Facebook. Tagging people helps people relive their memories, but there are complaints that tagging is a tedious task.

Now when you upload photos to Facebook, a facial recognition software will kick in to help you make tagging easier. When Facebook recognizes a face, they will group photos together and suggest the name of the person to tag.

If you do not want Facebook to recognize your face, you can disable it in the privacy settings. Click on “Customize Settings” and “Suggest photos of me to friends.” Your name will no longer be suggested in photo tags. Tag suggestions will be rolled out to users across the U.S. in the ext few weeks.
