Bleacher Report Raises $10.5 Million

Bleacher Report is a sports website that has raised $10.5 million in venture capital. Bleacher Report receives about 17 million monthly unique visitors. comScore ranks Bleacher Report as the fifth largest sports website after Yahoo!, ESPN, Fox Sports, and AOL Fanhouse. The company recently passed CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated.

“This company is growing astronomically and it’s just an execution play right now,” stated Crosslink Capital general partner Eric Chin. Crosslink lead the funding round. Bleacher Report recently hired Brian Grey as the company CEO. Grey was previously the head of Fox Sports Interactive and he was the first general manager at Yahoo! Sports.

About 3,000 contributors and 700 featured contributors write for Bleacher Report. Most of these contributors have day jobs but is looking for an outlet to have arguments about sports. The other investors in this round include Hillsvn Ventures, angel investors, family, and friends.
