In October 2010, Drop.io announced that they have been acquired by Facebook. Apparently Facebook bought “most of Drop.io’s technology and assets.” They also hired former Drop.io CEO Sam Lessin. Now Drop.io has stopped all of their services. If you miss Drop.io, I’d suggest using Dropbox, Windows Live Sky Drive, and/or MediaFire. [Lifehacker]
