On a Southwest flight from Las Vegas to Boise, there was a scuffle between a 15 year old and a 68 year old Treasure Valley resident named Russell Miller. Miller had punched the unnamed teenager after he failed to respond to a message from the airplane P.A. system that it was time to turn off electronic devices. The teenager was listening to music and playing a game on his iPhone. Miller punched the boy in the arm hard enough to leave a mark. After hearing about the punch, pilots used the radio to call the air traffic control tower and request local police to be at the gate. Miller was charged with a count of misdemeanor battery.
