RIM Denies PlayBook Battery Issues

RIM PlayBook
An analyst reported earlier that Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ:RIMM) was delaying the launch of the PlayBook tablet device. PR with RIM has denied the battery issues by saying “Any testing or observation of battery life to date by anyone outside of RIM would have been performed using pre-beta units that were built without power management implemented. RIM is on track with its schedule to optimize the BlackBerry PlayBook’s battery life and looks forward to providing customers with a professional grade tablet that offers superior performance with comparable battery life.”

The BlackBerry PlayBook has a 5300 mAh battery with a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 7-inch 1024×600 capacitive touchscreen. There is a 5-megapixel camera with a front-facing 3 megapixel camera. The device also has WiFi built in with 3G and 4G connections coming soon.
