Denver White (known as DJ Denver) of Wolverhampton in West England is being accused for purchasing $750,000 worth of music on iTunes and Amazon.com with stolen credit cards. About 11 other defendants that are in connection to the unnamed band and DJ are to appear in court as well. The purchases were made between January 2008 and June 2009. Since the royalties earned from sales on iTunes and Amazon.com had to be connected to a specific bank account, it made it easy for the FBI and the Scotland Yard to find out who is involved in this case. Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has won a trademark lawsuit that was filed by Eric Specht. Specht claimed that Google and the Open Handset Alliance was violating trademark by using the product name “Android.” Specht runs a company called Android Data. Specht wanted $94 million from Google.
Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) has bought the domain names BrianMoynihanBlows.com, BrianMoynihanSucks.com, BrianTMoynihanBlows.com, and BrianTMoynihanSucks.com in order to protect the name of their CEO. Bank of America also owns the .org and .net versions of these domain names too. Rumor has it that Bank of America snapped up these domain names because WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said that he has information on a major bank that could make him resign. Activision has added Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) to a $400 million lawsuit. Activision fired Jason West and Vince Zampella this past March. Activision believes that EA had “intentionally interfere with contracts, engaged in unfair competition and aided and abetted breaches of fiduciary duty by the executives.” Apparently EA was talking to West and Zampella through talent agency Creative Artists before the two finished working on Modern Warfare 2.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has hired Rahul Sood as the general manager of System Experience for the Interactive Entertainment division. Sood was one of the originators of the VoodooPC PC gaming machines. Sood joined HP after VoodooPC was acquired by them. Well… well… well… Look what we have here. A Samsung 4G LTE coming to Verizon has been spotted by a Gizmodo source. The phone appears to be running on Android Froyo and uses the TouchWiz interface.
