Roku is a Silicon Valley based company that created a TV set top box that streams digital content. With Apple recently announcing that they are going to sell its 1 millionth Apple TV, you may assume that Roku’s sales may not be doing as well as it used to. Roku is actually doing better than before because Apple brought attention to the digital TV streaming market. Roku’s size is doubling on year-over-year according to Roku CEO Anthony Wood in an interview with BusinessInsider. Google TV is not doing well as a competitor. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced the numbers about Windows Phone 7 sales. They have had 1.5 million phone manufacturer sales, which are phones bought and stocked by mobile operators and retailers on the way to customers. This number was revealed by Microsoft VP of business and marketing for Windows Phones. “Our numbers are similar to the performance of other first generation mobile platforms. We introduced a new platform with Windows Phone 7, and when you do that it takes time to educate partners and consumers on what you’re delivering, and drive awareness and interest in your new offering,” stated Berg. This rumor implies that Google is getting desperate to penetrate the local coupon shopping market.
