Google Emerges Victorious In Court Decision Against U.S. Interior Department Over Microsoft Contract


Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has won a lawsuit against the U.S. Interior Department. About two months ago, the Interior Department went with a contract from Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) to provide employees with application software. However Google was not give a chance to give a competitive bid. Judge Susan Braden, a federal judge in Washington D.C. has issued a preliminary injunction that will prevent the Interior Department from implementing Microsoft software that affects 88,000 employees. Google said that the Interior Department “violated the Competition in Contracting Act” that passed in 1984. [WSJ]
