Vudu Starts Streaming 3D Movies


High-definition movie on-demand streaming service Vudu now has 3D. The 3D content on Vudu is currently available on certain Samsung HDTVs and Blu-ray players. In the next few weeks, Vudu will work on the PlayStation 3. Vizio, LG, and other TVs will have Vudu in the next few months.

Some of the existing 3D titles on Vudu include Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, and Chicken Little. These movies will be in standard definition, 720p, and 1080p resolution. New 3D releases will cost $5.99 for 720p HD rentals. 1080p 3D rentals will cost $6.99. To buy the whole 3D movie, it will cost $21.99. Vudu is a subsidiary of Wal-Mart.
