IEEE P1934 Working Group Ships 2 Billion FireWire Ports

IEEE P1934 Working Group have shipped two billion ports worldwide since the technology was created around 1986. The FireWire port has been made available on over 1.2 billion consumer and computer products. FireWire is the name that Apple gave the IEEE 1934 High Speed Serial Bus, which lets you transfer data from one device to another. In comparison, about 10 billion USB ports have been shipped as of this past September. Over 3 billion USB ports are shipped every year.
