Apple CEO Steve Jobs Taking A Medical Leave Of Absence

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs sent an e-mail to all Apple employees saying that he is taking a medical leave of absence to focus on his health. He will remain as CEO and will be involved in major strategic decisions for the company. Apple COO Tim Cook said that he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations. Jobs recovered from pancreatic cancer after surgery in 2004. “I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can,” said Jobs. “I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.”
