Microsoft Launching OneNote App For iPhone

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is releasing the note-taking application OneNote. for the iPhone The program is available only for free only a limited time. Notes taken on the iPhone will be synchronized automatically and backed up on the Windows Live SkyDrive.

“We know people care more about what they do than where they do it,” stated Microsoft Office unit VP Takeshi Numoto. “Whether it’s on a PC or Mac, a mobile phone or online through the Web Apps on multiple browsers, we continue to bring Office to the devices, platforms, and operating systems our customers are using. It should be about the ideas and information, not the device, right?”

Microsoft’s development of this app is interesting because OneNote is one of the newer and least used software made by Microsoft. OneNote is not available as native software for Macs either. Microsoft has been developing OneNote for the iPhone for the last 18 months. Microsoft is planning on developing sophisticated Microsoft Office apps for Windows Phone 7.
