Blind Man Mark Anthony Riccobono Drives Around A Ford Escape On The Daytona International Speedway

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) designed a Ford Escape Hybrid vehicle that blind man Mark Anthony Riccobono was able to drive on the Daytona International Speedway. A van in front of him threw stationary and moving obstacles into the road, but Riccobono was able to dodge them. The high-tech SUV has a laser range finder that displayed a 3D map in front of the vehicle. The details from the 3D map were sent to the driver using a pair of vibrating globes that told the driver where to turn. The seat also has a vibrating strip that told the driver when to speed up, slow down, or stop. Solid work, Ford! [SlashGear]
